Summer 2009 and Athletes Retreat

Here are a few details for the August Retreat. We have had some inquiry so I will do my best to help you.
Friday, August 14th
9am-4pm Move into your apartment on campus
6pm Team Dinner and Activity
August 15-16th
Athletes retreat off campus
August 17-20th
Free time to go back home or just hang out on campus
August 20-21st
WOW Weekend for Freshman and Transfer Students
August 24th
First Day of Class

Team Retreat


We had our team retreat this past weekend in Lake George, CO. Stephenie Allen's grandparents have a log cabin house that we stayed in. It sleeps around 20 people so we had a ton of space. We sure appreciated their hospitality!! We had a great time just hanging out, taking pictures, playing games, having a dance party, etc!! Our team time together was amazing and this group of girls are growing in their relationship with Jesus and it's awesome to watch!! Here are some pictures!!

Start of the Season
Well, the first week has come and gone and it was a fantastic week. I have never seen a team give so much effort and encouragement in this setting. We had a week of conditioning tests and weight test which was a competition between the upper and under classmen. Things went really well and the upperclassmen won the competition (even though it was close) and the underclassmen will be doing the team laundry for the year. Coach Hays and I have been so encouraged and impressed with the effort this past week. We did a run at Red Rocks...very hard and grueling run and we had kids falling over with exhaustion at the finish line. This just shows how hard they are pushing their bodies both mentally and physically!! We can't wait to see what God has for this year!!
